Appealing to the SEND Tribunal can be extremely daunting for many, and reSEND aim to reduce the anxiety surrounding this process. Our Tribunal Support Advisers (TSA) are all IPSEA trained and are used to dealing with the challenges Local Authorities and the Tribunal can offer. 

Appeals can vary greatly in the number of hours required to complete and there is no shortcut or way to speed up the process. As a company we aim to get cases settled without the need for a hearing, thus reducing the time it takes to reach a settlement. However, nothing in the SEND world moves quickly and a lot of hours are spent in reading and reviewing documents and discussing with colleagues the best way to move forward in each individual case. In our experience Tribunal cases can take as little as 15 hours or they can take over 100 hours. 

We are mindful of the increasing costs when appealing to the SEND Tribunal so to make it easier for our clients to budget, we are introducing a cap on the cost of each case of Tribunal support. Each stage and appeal is considered a separate case. This means that you will be billed monthly for our services until the case reaches the cap of £5,500. All following work will be done Pro Bono with the exception of Representation at court. As a company we aim to empower parents to manage their hearing however, we can provide representation at the hearing if required. Representation at court is billed separately at a fixed price and is not included in the capped price. 

Every appeal is different, however our service includes the following as standard:

• Initial case review and consultation
• Drafting and lodging your appeal
• Preparation and submission of your evidence
• Dealing with all correspondence with the Local Authority and the Tribunal
• Full and on-going review of the evidence and documentation
• Liaison and consultation with your instructed experts
• Attending meetings (in person or via telephone/video conferencing)
• Attendance and support at mediation meetings with the Local Authority
• Regular case updates provided to you throughout the appeal process
